Stories

I believe that stories are important.  I also believe that we all have stories and that we can always make more.  Our stories can influence and encourage others.  I am going to share part of my story with you.  The story I will share is about the process of developing these posters.  I would like you to think about how you can make a difference and how your story can be used to help other people.  Can you use your specific gifts to share a story?  Can you use your story to teach people as you learn?  Can you open up about something that was difficult for you?

It might seem like you don't have a story to share or that you don't have someone to share this story with.  Believe me you do have a story.  It can be something you have done or learned.  If you have looked through this website, I would like to think that you have learned something about grace.  Share this grace with a friend, family member, or a stranger.
If you don't think that you are creative here are a couple ideas to help...

The trick to grace is that the person does not need to earn what give them.  It must be given regardless of their actions.

My Story/Artist's Statement

I have always loved to work with and help people.  My favorite groups are those that tend to be the social lepers of the today.  I have had many opportunities to work with these various groups such as the homeless and “troubled youth.”

Growing up Lutheran I have always been fascinated with grace and the belief the God loves everyone no matter what.  There is no sin too great for grace and I believe that we cannot work our way to heaven.

What Will Your Story Be?

If the LGBTQ community knew about the radical love of Jesus instead of the mockery from The Phelps Family would the world be different?  Would the six LGBTQ students, from around the United States, who took their own lives still be here?  If these students knew that through grace they were perfect just the way they were, their families would not have to deal with the pain of losing a loved one?  This is proof that one person can make a difference.  If one person would have understood the message that I want to share, they could have invited one of those kids out for coffee.  Even if the two had different beliefs, the mutual understanding of grace would have helped the situation and would have had the potential to save lives.
